Detail of a bigger drawing that I did, inspired by the book"Slogum House" by Mari Sandoz. I always imagine what the
characters look like and often draw them. Here is Libby, the
eldest daughter (who looked more like her father) and the
two twins, both beautiful- one supposed to be chubbier than
the other one.
Here are the two older brothers. Hab was the black heartedfavorite of the mother (resembling her side of the family).
Cash is the next oldest, always trying to be as evil as his brother
but not quite making it. Too much of his father in him, according
to their mother.
These are how I saw the father and the mother. RuedySlogum had sad eyes and was sort of "snagged up" by Gulla.
Gulla is supposed to have a wide mouth, like a toad. She is
wicked and black hearted and uses her children as tools.

how I pictured him in his room with his "torturing
cages".....you just have to read the book!!
